Robert Mathis’s journey to insurance is as unique as his background. Originally from Southern California, Robert grew up in Menifee, CA, alongside his four brothers. Raised in a family where entrepreneurship was at the forefront, he watched his father pivot from being laid off to successfully launching his own IT company. This experience instilled in Robert a deep respect for hard work and a competitive spirit that has defined his career.

After high school, Robert immersed himself in various business ventures, including coaching soccer, working for a valet trash company, and eventually starting his own trash service in Austin, Texas. It was through a conversation with a close friend, Parker Miller, that Robert discovered Orr & Associates. Intrigued by the agency’s model, Robert took a leap of faith, earning his license within a month and joining Orr in May 2023.

Robert has since found success in areas such as contractors workers’ compensation and commercial auto, with a particular interest in heavy-haul trucking. One of his most memorable success stories was helping 4Ever Roofing Inc. navigate a confusing workers’ comp renewal that led to them trusting him with additional coverage. Robert’s problem-solving ability, grounded in his extensive business background, allows him to help clients feel supported and informed.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys sports, business, and good food. He thrives in an environment where his work ethic directly impacts his success and appreciates the freedom Orr’s model offers. His client approach is simple: be available, offer clear communication, and always over-deliver. Looking forward, Robert’s goals include deepening his knowledge of insurance coverage and building a team of agents to share in his success.
